Camping in Cape Cod
Private owned and state owned campsites in Cape Cod attempt to provide the
luxuries of modern amenities in the midst of nature at affordable rates. Camping
during the summer would require reservations. However, during periods before
and after the summer there can be plenty of camping options.
If sleeping on the beach is your idea of camping in Cape Cod then come prepared
with your checkbook for the fines and try not to get intimidated by the idea
of being buried in the sand by being run over by a four-wheeler in the dark.
North of Highland Camping Area is a wooded area of 60 acres on the northern
most tip of Cape Cod adjoining the famous Cape Cod National Sea Shore. It has
237 pristine campsites amidst pine trees. This privately owned camping site
provides ping-pong tables, pool tables, foos ball and outdoor playing facilities.
Though situated in the woods the camp is not far away from the beach. Just ½
a mile away is the beach, which is always present to enthrall the campers.
Peter’s Pond Park, Sandwich is another fine destination in camping. Whether
you want to hike, lounge, walk, fish, swim, paddle, peddle, row, watch cable
TV, relax, or play, Peters Pond is a special place to renew and rejuvenate yourself
and strengthen your relationships with those you love.
Horton’s camping resort is a 40 acre unspoiled countryside in the north
of Truro. The camping resort has a number of camping sites that provide a pleasant
view of the Cape Cod National Sea Shore. There are around 200 large, shaded
and open sites with 72 sites for RV hook ups. There are rest rooms with access
for handicapped individuals.
Sippewissett camping ground in Falmouth provides spacious camping sites that
can accommodate tents, pop-ups, trailers, vans and recreational vehicles. The
camping ground has cabins for families. The cabins are furnished with private
bathrooms and a picnic table including a barbecue.
Sweet Water Forest, Brewster is another camping area that is set in pine and
oak tress. It has 250 sites and spread over an area of 75 acres on Snow’s
Pond Lake. It has 50 full hook up sites for RVs and motor homes. There is a
special camping area called the B – area where trailers and RVs are not
allowed. This ensures a perfect serene and quiet atmosphere amidst the forest
that is sought by many tent campers. You can canoe in the lake, or play golf
in the 18 Hole mini golf course.
